A Spooktacular Halloween with your RV!
It seems like Halloween gets bigger and brighter every year, and more people are finding creative ways to join in on the fun. If you're a RV owner, there are plenty of ways to get your motorhome or trailer involved in the ghostly spirit. Come Halloween time, do you boast a Fearsome Fleetwood or a Haunted Heartland?
If you happen to be traveling during this time of year, you’ll discover many RV parks offer Halloween themed events. It’s one of the busiest times of the year for a lot of parks, and Halloween themes are very popular. Activities include trick-or-treating, campsite decorating and costume contests. Campgrounds with a high percentage of year-round visitors or fulltimers turn into a typical Halloween neighborhood.
While in your destination, check out the local scene – explore corn mazes, pumpkin patches and city sponsored festivals. Most cities have a local haunted house to visit if you’re looking for a good spook.
Picking up pumpkins is a quick way to get in the spirit. Light up jack-o-lanterns made by the whole family outside your camper door and add mini pumpkins inside your RV, which are perfect for small spaces. Utilize that kitchen to roast your pumpkin seeds, and even bake some pumpkin cookies (recipe has been tested – and it's a true crowd pleaser!)
Since storage space in your RV is limited, check out dollar stores and bargain aisles to find small and inexpensive – yet festive – decorations that you won’t have to worry about storing after using. Try decorating with cobwebs, streamers and orange lights.
Keeping the RV at home during Halloween? Transform it into a personal haunted house for trick-or-treaters in your own driveway! And once the trick-or-treaters are under a self-inflicted candy coma, adults can retreat to the bar for a Candy Corn Martini.
