10 Gift Ideas for RV Owners

Still searching for a holiday gift for the RV enthusiast on your list?  Sure, a brand new motorhome would be a fantastic surprise, but while you’re saving up for that, consider gifts that don’t take up too much room and provide a practical use.  Since living quarters are smaller than what you’ll find in a typical house, get creative to find the perfect present.

Whether your loved one is on a fulltime vacation or is an occasional RV adventurer, this list has everything to keep their RV prepared on any budget.

1.      Puzzles and games.  Kids and adults alike love games and activities while on vacation.  Help them keep their RV stocked with fun items for family trips with cards, brain teasers, trivia games, outdoor sport sets and electronic games.

2.      Outdoor camping furniture.  It’s always great having friends stop by your campsite, so you can never have enough outdoor patio chairsFoldable chairs store easily in the under basement compartments of motorhomes.

3.      Cookbooks for RVs.  Since RVs have smaller-sized kitchens, cooking on the road can be a challenging experience.  Sometimes you can’t have the same special ingredients you keep in your house.  Search for cookbooks created especially for motorhome travel.

4.     BBQ tools.  If you RV in Arizona and other warm places, you’re lucky enough to grill year-round.  Whether they’re a grill master or BBQ novice, you can find a variety of tools for every griller.

5.      Subscription for RV magazines.  Help them to stay up-to-date on the latest industry news with a subscription to a magazine like RV Business or Motorhome Magazine.  (How will they get their mail while on the road?  Click here for tips.)

6.      Portable fire rings. One of the greatest parts about camping is snuggling up near the fire on a starry night.  Make sure they always have a fire ring wherever they go!  Search for various fire rings here.

7.      S’mores kits.  Create your own s’mores kits with graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolate and colored stainless steel forks for campfire cooking.  Mix it up with variations like peanut butter cups, granola bar squares and other fun flavors, and individually pack them for the kids.

8.      Gift cards.  Think about universal gift cards that can be used anywhere – like Starbucks, gas stations and fast food chains.  Also consider a gift card for KOA Kampgrounds, since they have locations everywhere across the country.

9.      GPS system.  While many new RVs feature these built in, used RVs may not have the latest technology.  Give your loved one confidence and safety traveling anywhere their heart desires.

10.   eBook reader.  If your budget allows, consider this small piece of technology that carries thousands of books in the palm of your hand.  Since motorhomes lack much bookshelf space, an eBook reader like a Kindle is a thoughtful solution for reading on the road.
